About the Role:

This role will directly contribute to creating cohesive, accessible and meaningful performance metrics, to enable data-driven decision making by the Board, Senior Leadership and Operational teams across the organisation.

With the guidance of the Business Intelligence Lead, the BI Analyst will work closely with other analysts and Subject Matter Experts to gather data, develop reports and visualisations, and provide insights to key stakeholders, whilst developing their capabilities as an early-career data professional.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the Transformation team to understand the data behind our key processes and identify and establish improvement; 
  • Assisting in identifying areas of opportunity for process improvement and automation as a part of Digital Transformation projects and initiatives;
  • Assisting in gathering data from various sources and performing data cleaning and preparation;
  • Developing reports and visualisations to effectively communicate data insights to key stakeholders;
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach with Society staff.  

About You:

You may be recent graduate (Information Technology, Data & Analytics or similar) with Business Intelligence experience. OR  You may be seeking a career change, with significant Business Intelligence experience in a professional setting (e.g. Data & Technology, Finance, Operations, etc)

You are known for being responsive, approachable, and service oriented; you will confidently build connections with your key stakeholders and create positive working relationships.

Your keen eye for detail and exceptional analytical skills can help decipher complex data and communicate it to a variety of audiences.

More specifically you will have:

  •  A recent relevant qualification or demonstrative experience in Business Intelligence (required);
  • Power BI visualisation and report navigation design (required);
  • Knowledge of the DAX language (required);
  • SQL skills, including views, stored procedures, and functions (required);
  • Knowledge of Star Schema data model design concepts (required);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Good technical aptitude and ability to pick up new systems quickly;
  •  Well-developed time management skills;
  • Outcomes focused approach to problem solving;
  •  Awareness of, and ability to work within, the ethos of the Society.
