About St Vincent de Paul Society
For more than 170 years we have been providing practical and compassionate support to people across Victoria whose daily struggles can include putting food on the table, paying essential utilities and ensuring their children remain at school to obtain an education.
Our organisation provides many services and programs, including soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria (VCV), which assist some of Victoria’s most vulnerable communities, such as people experiencing homelessness, the housing crisis and family violence, and the elderly.
Little bit about the role
The Senior Asset Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the effective operational management of the Society’s property and infrastructure assets. This position is responsible for overseeing maintenance compliance, lifecycle planning, risk management, and the implementation of asset strategies across a diverse portfolio, including retail stores, warehouses, support centres, VincentCare Victoria sites, VincentCare Community Housing facilities, and other owned or leased properties.
Reporting to the Head of Property, the Senior Asset Manager leads the delivery of safe, efficient property operations and contributes to long-term asset sustainability planning. The role includes supervising the Property & Compliance Managers and the Property Partner, while working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure facilities remain compliant, functional, and aligned to both operational and community needs.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Facilities Management, Asset Management, Building Services, Engineering, or a related discipline, or a minimum of five years of relevant industry experience
- Additional qualifications in Project Management, WHS, or Compliance (desirable)
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence (essential)
- Demonstrated experience in facilities or asset management across diverse property portfolios
- Strong understanding of building maintenance systems and statutory compliance requirements
- Proven experience managing teams, contractors, and external service providers
- Ability to assess building conditions and coordinate lifecycle planning
- Working knowledge of ESM requirements and property compliance frameworks
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in contract administration and operational budgeting

- We make an incredible difference in the lives of over 300,000 people every year.
- We believe in families, so we like to provide a family-friendly environment in which to work.
